Today was the start of Chess Club for 2017-18. The club takes place every Friday lunch time, from 12.30 p.m. until 1 p.m. We had a special visit from Marty today who was curious to find out what all the fuss was about! Although he wasn't too bothered about learning the game, he was given cuddles by the children, which he loved!
As well as developing childrens' confidence, playing chess can boost learning, thinking and decision making. It can also help in developing foresight and planning techniques. Playing chess is based on logic, so can also help with improving maths skills.
If you would like to find out more about chess club, please send an email to the club leader, Mr. Hitchen.

A brilliant effort from our Cross Country Team! @BlackpoolParks @SportBlackpool
A huge well done to our newly formed Cross
Country Team who competed in their first event
this morning in Stanley Park.
A special mention to Jennifer (Y5B) who came
second at the Y5/6 category.
As always, the children showed tremendous
sportsmanship and outstanding behaviour. We are very proud of them all. All the children managed to finish the competition and they thoroughly enjoyed taking part!
